Hello! My name is Brady Armstrong. I have been a musician since birth, pretty much. My interest in the musical arts has led me to become a multi-instrumentalist over the years. I sing, and I play: keys, guitar, bass, drums, percussion (of many types), saxophone, and clarinet.
I write and record my own music, and I perform in and around Nashville, Tennessee.
I started recording, producing, and mixing in 2019, and I have not stopped ever since! I am in love with the process of making music, and I love to create songs that have emotional impact and put you in a unique world. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's degree in Audio Production, and worked on many different projects in the school studios as well as my home studio.
As I have worked on more projects, I have developed an ear for mastering, and the subtle yet powerful additions that it can make to an already wonderful mix.
I currently operate out of my home studio in Nashville, but I also can record in any studio you want to work in! I am a very proficient engineer, and I can work with pretty much any console/studio gear you put in front of me! $100k to $200 baby.
DAWs of choice? - Pro Tools, Ableton Live (Depending on type of production). I mix in Pro Tools.
Mics of choice? - Ribbons are my fav, but I have pretty much every type of mic
Analog gear? - Yes, I especially love tube gear, preamps, and analog compressors. I own analog compressors, eqs, preamps, and other spectral processors. I'm a huge tape-head as well. I have 2 reel-to-reel machines as well as a 4-Track Tascam Portastudio.
Speakers or Headphones? - I think both are critical if you can do it in your space. I have Tannoy Precision 8 speakers, which are excellently tuned for mastering work. I regularly switch to my HiFiMan Edition XS planar-magnetic headphones (or my cheap Sony MDRs) for mixing. Being able to have different listening environments is critical.
Synths? - I love synths, and I own a Korg Monologue, and a Roland JU-06A Juno
Keys? - I have a 1970s Wurlitzer 206a that I restored!
Favorite artists? - Probably Big Thief, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Stevie Wonder. In any order, love them equally.
